Dr. Farr
Michael T. Farr, M.D. is a board certified general surgeon who joined Shore Minimally Invasive Surgery and the Hernia Institute of New Jersey in August 2022 immediately following completion of his general surgery residency. After earning his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Farr received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and then completed residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. During his surgical training, Dr. Farr made the acquaintance of Dr. David Dupree, a well-established surgeon in the Red Bank area. A shared commitment to quality care and strong work ethic were core values of both professionals, which led to Dr. Farr joining the practice. Additionally, having grown up at the Jersey Shore, it was a natural decision to practice in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Dr. Farr is trained in all areas of general surgery. He is certified to perform robotic surgery utilizing the state of the art DaVinci surgical system, for hernia and gallbladder procedures. Feeling a strong connection to the community, Dr. Farr takes great pride in caring for residents in Ocean and Monmouth counties. Helping people get back to a pain-free life where they can return to work and enjoy family time is at the heart of his efforts. Open communication is a key aspect of his care philosophy. He ensures that he and patients are on the same page every step of the way, with clear expectations and understanding from diagnosis to treatment planning and through recovery. Dr. Farr has privileges at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank and Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. When he's not in the operating room or consulting with patients, Dr. Farr enjoys playing and coaching ice-hockey
